Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most. If yours is not here, call 8762054618 or email shippyxpress@gmail.com.
How do I sign up?
Create a free account on this website. You get your Shippy Xpress account number and your US shipping address straight away, and you choose where you want to collect your packages.
How do I use my US address?
When you shop at a US store, enter the address shown in your account as the delivery address. Put your account number on address line 2 every time. That number is how the warehouse knows the package is yours.
How do I ship by sea instead of air?
Use the same US address and add the word SEA after your account number on address line 2, for example SXP5034 SEA. Packages without SEA on the label are sent by air freight.
How much does shipping cost?
Air freight from the USA is charged by weight. The full rate chart is on our homepage and in your account under Rates. Sea freight is quoted on request.
How often do you ship, and how long does it take?
Air freight leaves the USA for Jamaica five times a week, so your package is put on a flight soon after it reaches the warehouse. Customs checks and public holidays can add time. Your account shows each stage, and we email you when the status changes.
How do I track my package?
Log in to see every package on your account and its latest status. You can also enter a Shippy Xpress tracking number on the Track a package page without logging in. We email you each time the status changes.
My package was delivered to the warehouse but I cannot see it. What should I do?
Packages show in your account after the warehouse scans them in. If the store says it was delivered and it has not appeared, send us a message from your account with the courier tracking number and we will look for it.
Will I pay customs duty?
Some items attract duty and taxes set by the Jamaica Customs Agency. Where this applies, it is added to your invoice as its own line, for example Custom duty, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
How do I pay?
You can pay online by card from your account, or pay when you collect. All prices and payments are in Jamaican dollars (JMD). Card payments are processed by Fygaro over an encrypted connection and checked with 3-D Secure. Shippy Xpress never stores your full card number.
Where do I collect my packages?
At the pickup location you chose when you signed up (Kingston). You can change it at any time under Account. We email you when a package is ready.
Can you deliver my package to me?
Yes. In your account choose Schedule delivery, pick the packages and enter your address. We confirm the delivery fee and the time with you before we send it out.
What happens if I do not collect my package?
Please collect within 30 days of the day we tell you it is ready. After 30 days an uncollected package is treated as abandoned and may be sold to recover the charges owed on it.
Do you offer a local courier service?
Yes, Monday to Friday, across Kingston, Saint Andrew and Saint Catherine. Kingston and Saint Andrew count as one area. A pickup and drop-off within the same parish is J$1,000, and from one area to the other is J$1,200. Same day express is J$1,500 within one parish and J$2,000 between the two. Book same day before 10:00 am, and next working day before 2:00 pm. You do not need an account to book.
I do not have a credit card. Can I still shop online?
Yes. Use our Credit card purchase service. Send us the links to what you want, and we reply with the full amount in Jamaican dollars, which includes our 10% service fee. Drop off the cash at our branch, then we buy the items with our card and ship them to Jamaica on your account. Freight and any customs duty are charged separately when your package arrives.
Can you buy products from China for me?
Yes. Send us a sourcing request with a product link, photo or description. We find suppliers, send you a quote that covers the goods and shipping to Jamaica, and place the order once you approve it.
Is there anything I cannot ship?
We do not carry items that are illegal to import into Jamaica or unsafe to transport, such as weapons, explosives, flammable goods and illegal drugs. Some items need an import permit. If you are not sure about an item, ask us before you buy it.
